When you wish to apply for an Aadhaar card, you have to fill up a form that is available on the UIDAI website, the official Aadhaar portal, or an Aadhaar Enrolment Centre. Proof of Date of Birth (DOB) Documents for Aadhaar Card

By now you know that to obtain a new Aadhaar card you need to provided supported document proof. Along with proof of identity documents, you must also provide any of the following to verify your birth date:

• A certificate of your date of birth issued by a Gazetted Officer on a letterhead

As is the case with all Aadhaar supporting documents , any of the documents provided above must be self-attested and then submitted to the Aadhaar authority.

Proofs of Relationship Documents Required for Aadhaar Enrolment

If you are not the head of your family, you have to submit proof of relationship (with the head of the family) documents. Among the new Aadhaar card documents , these proofs should show your relationship with the head of the family. You can provide any of the following for this purpose:

• Pension card
• PDS card
• Passport
• CGHS/ECHS Card
• Army Canteen Card
• MNREGA Job Card
• A Birth Certificate
• A Marriage Certificate issued by the government
• A Bhamashah Card
• An address card issued by the Postal Department
• In the case of a child’s birth, a discharge certificate issued by a government hospital
• A certificate of relationship proof issued by an MLA, MLC, MP, or Gazetted Officer. This must be issued on letterhead.
• A certificate of identity establishing the relationship with the head of the family, issued by a village head or panchayat in rural areas.

Documents Required for Aadhar Card for Children

The Aadhaar card is issued to children, and the Aadhaar documents required for children are identical to those required for adults. In case the parent of the child holds an Aadhaar card, this must be provided. Children who are below 5 years of age are exempted from submitting biometric data. After the age of 5, they must provide biometric data, and Aadhaar supporting documents . Any of the following may be provided for obtaining an Aadhaar card for a child over 5 years of age:

• Proof of Identity Documents
• Proof of Address Documents
• A Birth Certificate
• An Aadhaar card of a parent

While speaking about documents required for an Aadhaar card for children, you should note that children under the age of 5 years may not have the documentation required in their own right. In such cases, the documents about the parents may be submitted as proof.

Documents Required for OCI Cardholders/ LTV Document Holders/ Nepal & Bhutan Nationals and Other Resident Foreigners

If you are an OCI cardholder, an LTV document holder, a Nepal/Bhutan national, or any other resident foreigner, you can still obtain an Aadhaar card by submitting Aadhaar supporting documents . Here is what you must provide according to your category:

• OCI Cardholders: A valid foreign passport and a valid OCI card for those residents who have resided in India for a minimum of 182 days in the past year
• LTV/Long-term Visa Holders: A valid foreign passport and a valid LTV, which have been issued to minority communities of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh, like Buddhists, Sikhs, Jains, Hindus, Christians, and Parsis.
• Residents of Nepal and Bhutan: A valid passport, or any two of either a citizenship certificate, a Voter ID, or a Limited Validity Mission Certificate issued in India.
• Other Resident Foreigners: A valid foreign passport and a valid visa for resident foreigners who have resided in India for 182 days in the past year, or a valid certificate of registration issued by FRO/FRRO.
